Have questions about the Tecumseh Tigersharks?

Q - What is SMSL?
A - SMSL is the Southern Michigan Swim League, we have 4-5 dual meets and a Championship meet in the Fall and Winter. Most meets are within a 45 minute drive.

Q - Is there transportation to meets?
A - No, parents must drive their athlete.

Q- Do I have to go to meets?

A - We believe that attending meets is an important part of learning how to be on a competitive swim team, and we encourage our swimmers to attend at least one meet.

Q - Is there a fee to go to meets?
A - No, meet fees are included in registration.

Q - What should I bring to a meet?
A - Swim suit, team cap, goggles, towels (2 towels are suggested, one for use during the meet and one for dressing after the meet), T-shirts, sweats: something to wear when they are not competing. It can get very cold waiting around in a wet suit. Athletes need to stay warm. Flip-flops or deck shoes, swim bag, shampoo, conditioner, brush, comb. A Lock - do not leave anything in a locker room that is not locked. Keep your bag with you or lock it in the locker room. For longer meets, you may want to bring books, cards or coloring books to occupy your free time.

Q - What should I bring to practice?
A - Swimsuit, goggles, caps, towel, and a good attitude!

Q - What are 'Stroke Clinics'?

A - Stroke Clinics give swimmers a chance to work on stroke technique, body position, starts, and turns.

Have questions about Swim Lessons?

Q - Can I stay and watch lessons?
A - Yes. For safety, we request that parents remain in the bleachers

Q - What if I register for the wrong level?
A - On the first day of lessons we will check to make sure swimmer is in the appropriate level.

Q - Why is my swimmer in the same level as the last time?
A - Every swimmer learns at their own pace.  We want your swimmer to be confident to move to the next level.

Q - Should I take my swimmer to open swim while they are taking lessons?
A - Yes!!  The more exposure your swimmer has to the water, the more comfortable they will become.
